This is the story, in photographs, of the house I found in France in September 2018 and I completed its purchase on 29 July 2019.
The house is sufficiently finished to be able to live there, but there is work to be done. First major job, now completed, was the new kitchen, preserving the beams and chimney of the old open hearth, but equipped with modern appliances.
Seynes is about 20km north west of Uzès, in Gard (west of Avignon, north of Nîmes) in southern France, an hour and a bit back from the Med. Check out the environs
The pandemic disrupted plans somewhat, I reckon I'm about 2yrs behind where I'd hoped to be. But a tiny village was a most welcome retreat when I could get down, and I was able to fix the leaky roof-terrace before furniture below was ruined. Never a dull moment in fact!
Lastly, every gracious house should have appropriate metal on its drive - my LHD Peugeot 504 Coupé has now taken up permanent residence!
